This painting really surprised me! I usually don’t do figurative art, but this painting seemed to take on a life of it’s own. I started sketching some clouds from my inspiration photo, but it quickly took on a shape of a figure holding the light in the palm of their hand. I remembered a lesson I watched on following my intuition, so I followed that feeling and let the painting become what it wanted to be. It took several layers over the course of a few weeks before I could get everything to look right. It was a challenge to determine how much should remain as clouds, and how much should be a person. In the end, it became this unearthly, spiritual, soulful being formed from the clouds.
Behold - To have in sight; to see clearly; to look at; to regard with the eyes.
I intentionally didn’t paint the eyes. There is more than one way to see.
