I had the idea to make these two wood cradled panels both match as a set using similar but different landscapes. The light shining down on the landscape reminded me of a memory of when I was a teenager. My family went on vacation in Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park one summer. We went for a walk around the park one afternoon during a mostly cloudy day. I remember being struck by the beauty of the sun shining down on the prairie landscape and being filled with awe of the beauty of nature. This painting isn’t of that prairie landscape, but I think the feeling is similar. A new memory, then, since we cannot go back to the past.
