I’m starting a new series following my obsession with peonies. I’ve painted them once before, but I felt myself returning to them for a deeper, closer look. Their petals are so complicated and complex, it reminds me of how complicated and complex the inner world inside our brains are. This peony feels defiant, perservering and holding strong. Bold and not afraid to take centre stage, showing courage and feeling empowered in the face of hardship.
